* AI-TÚPUA'I - ancient Tahitian goddess of healing. Daughter of warrior god Oro. (DPOLY.5)
* Apollo - Greek god of intellect, healing, the arts and light. (DM.25)
* Hygeia - Greek goddess of health. Daughter of Aesculapius. (DM.132)
* Imhotep - Egyptian sage and healer. Formed a triad with Ptah and Sekhmet. Imhotep is the god of knowledge and the patron of medicine. (DM.139)

Symbols and Objects
* Caduceus (many cultures) snakes entwined around a rod, representing healing. In mesopotamia the intertwined snakes represented the healing god Ningishzida. A similar symbol for the greek medical god Asclepius. Emblem also found in India, and the Americas with Aztecs and American Indians. Used today as an emblem of the medical profession. (WDS.87)
